Ljubljana’s Culinary Tourism is On The Rise

Ljubljana has become a popular destination for modern gourmet lovers looking for new culinary experiences.

The culinary tourism, focused on good food and drink as a basic motif for travelling, has been an expanding trend of the past years. In the past decade Ljubljana has become a popular destination for modern gourmet lovers looking for new culinary experiences.

Tourism has become much more than merely visiting the local and regional architectural and cultural sights. The main motif in culinary tourism is learning about the nourishment culture of various countries and enjoying their traditional local specialities.

Ljubljana Tourism has been striving to bring the local gastronomic and culinary festivals in Ljubljana to the local and international food enthusiasts. The culinary offer of Ljubljana has always been diverse and rich in ingredients. Under the Taste Ljubljana brand we have been presenting the traditional dishes of Ljubljana prepared in an attractive way, by using modern cooking methods and local ingredients.

A number of Ljubljana's restaurants complement their offer with dishes from the Taste Ljubljana selection, and numerous culinary festivals are presenting the typical local food and beverages.

Ljubljana Tourism offers the visitors to Ljubljana the guided Taste Ljubljana city tour, the Ljubljana Beer Experience and the Ljubljana Wine Experience. Read more about those tours here.

A wide selection of organised experiences is also available to the visitors looking for gastronomic highlights. We also put a lot of focus on the citizens of Ljubljana, looking for quality culinary experiences in the city, enjoying the culinary festivals and trying out quality wines and craft beers. By following the Gourmet Ljubljana brand on Internet and social media, they can reach all information they need to “feed” their inner culinary traveller.
