Cecchini, the representative of the eighth generation of the family butcher trade, is renowned throughout the entire world – celebrity chef Jamie Oliver claimed that the meat from the Cecchini butchery is one of the best in the world, practically every world newspaper wrote about their meat, and in 2019 Mr Cecchini will be featured in the sixth season of one of the most popular culinary shows lately, the Netflix’s Chef’s Table. Cecchini stands up for respecting animals and preserving smaller, family-owned butcher shops. He shared a few words on Slovenia before his visit: "It is a neighbouring country to Italy with a great tradition of good food and drinks." He also added that he wishes to introduce the mindset to Slovenia that there are no good and bad parts of meat, all parts are useful if they are used properly.
"Here, in diVino, we are absolutely honoured to have been visited by the famous Dario Cecchini. This restaurant is also the only one in Slovenia and in the region with the franchise for using his products and preparing them according to a method that he developed on his own," shared the diVino restaurant manager Julija Krenker.
The training of the restaurant staff took place within the diVino and the Antica Macelleria Cecchini collaboration. diVino is now the only restaurant in Slovenia with a licence to serve their products. You can now experience the Slovenian version of the Cecchini show in diVino each Wednesday. Reservations are mandatory.
