European Food Summit, also known as Gourmet Cup Ljubljana in previous years, has outgrown itself. Today, it is committed to becoming the most important culinary event in Europe. Between 16 and 19 March 2019 the European Food Summit, in partnership with Ljubljana Tourism and Slovenian Tourist Board, will offer an exceptional programme with inspiring culinary stories.
Mag. Petra Stušek, Managing Director at Ljubljana Tourism: "Gastronomy is an increasingly popular motivation for tourists coming here, as Ljubljana and the entire Slovenia have a lot to offer in this area. At European Food Summit we want to incorporate culinary art into unforgettable and unique experiences, and additionally enrich them with lectures and the possibility of exchanging opinions at the highest level. By realising that gastronomy forms a part of culture, we also planned a culinary crawl around Ljubljana and thus intertwined culinary art and culture."
See a short summary of the programme below. Further details, list of speakers and visiting chefs as well as event locations can be found on www.foodsummit.eu.

The closing event will take place on Mount Krvavec. The day will kick off with a gourmet breakfast in the company of an excellent master chef Luka Košir. Skiers, snowboarders, winemakers and foodies will get the chance to partake in a ski race and compete to stand on the winner’s podium, while the Krvavec ‘snow beach’ will host the Gourmet on Snow event where participants will be pampered by Slovenian and foreign master chefs and excellent wines. The day will end with an après-ski party.
